August 2019 Monthly Update

August at SkyHive: SkyHive CEO joins CABC, CTO Awards, Startup Spotlight, and More!

It’s been another busy month at SkyHive. The team has been working hard day in and day out in pursuit of our mission. From joing CABC, CTO awards, and a startup spotlight, we have a lot to catch up on.

Here’s what we have been up to this month:

Sean Hinton, Founder and CEO of SkyHive, has been appointed as the Co-Chair of the Entrepreneurs Circle of the Canadian American Business Council (CABC). Sean’s appointment reinforces his role as a global thought leader on the future of work and will allow him to contribute his knowledge of real-time labor market activity to driving impact at a policy level in Canada and the U.S.

SkyHive is proud to be chosen for the 2019 cohort of Canadian Technology Accelerator – Silicon Valley. Through this 5-month program that specializes in growing high potential Canadian startups, SkyHive will receive individualized mentoring and support for rapid scaling and market expansion from an extensive network of experts, investors, and industry partners in the Bay Area.

At the Singularity University Global Summit in San Francisco, Sean shared the importance of reskilling and his vision for the future of work with Deloitte’s Global Human Capital leader Erica Volini and SU’s Chair for the Future of Work Gary Bolles in front of 1800+ attendees from 64+ countries.

Congratulations to our own Sergiy Osypchuk for winning the BC CTO Award!

Growing up in Ukraine, SkyHive’s Co-Founder and CTO Sergiy didn’t let a lack of access to computers stop him from pursuing his passion for technology and building a world-class startup.

SkyHive is the only company in Western Canada selected for Village Capital’s Future of Work & Learning program. This distinguished program accelerates high-potential ventures that address the skills gaps and help individuals access education.

Over the next four months, SkyHive will work closely with the program’s experts, investors, and partners including the Michelson 20MM Foundation, Lumina Foundation, Autodesk Foundation, and AT&T to tackle the global workforce reskilling challenge.

SkyHive is the first company featured in Startup Grind’s new column, Startup Spotlight. Learn what makes SkyHive the chosen Startup Spotlight for the month here.

Startup Grind, powered by Google for Entrepreneurs, is a prestigious global startup community designed to educate, inspire, and connect entrepreneurs.

SkyHive has been selected as a top HR startup to compete in the Pitchfest at this year’s HR Technology Conference & Exposition. The HR Tech Conference is the world’s largest HR tech expo, which will enable SkyHive the opportunity to present its pioneering workforce reskilling solutions to over 10,000 senior HR and IT decision-makers from around the globe.
