H. E. Ambassador C. J. Augustine-Kanu Joins SkyHive Advisory Board
Grenada’s Ambassador to the European Union joins SkyHive’s mission to tackle global poverty and unemployment
Vancouver, BC — March 8, 2018 — SkyHive, the world’s first skills-based job matching and training platform with the vision to tackle global poverty and social inequalities, is proud to announce the appointment of Her Excellency C. J. Augustine-Kanu to its Advisory Board. SkyHive is especially proud to make this announcement on International Women’s Day 2018, symbolizing both H.E. Augustine-Kanu’s and SkyHive’s utmost commitment to equality and diversity.
As Grenada’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary & Permanent Representative to the European Union, C. J. Augustine-Kanu has had a long history working with the Government of Canada and international government bodies, holding various positions at the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in Canada (DFAIT), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Grenada, and the Grenada Permanent Mission to the United Nations, etc. By August 2015, the Government of Grenada promoted her to the rank of ‘Her Excellency Ambassador’ and appointed her as ‘Head of Mission’ to establish the Embassy of Grenada in Brussels, Kingdom of Belgium.
Ambassador Augustine-Kanu’s mother (The Honourable Dr. Jean Augustine, PC, CM, CBE) is the first Black Female Member of the Parliament in the history of Canada and the first to serve in Federal Cabinet; the first Black Minister of State and first Black Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons in Ottawa, Canada.

The traditional and lengthy process of resource identification, whether in a workplace setting or in a volunteer/humanitarian aid setting has been recognized as inefficient by more and more organizations worldwide; global unemployment rates continue to rise. SkyHive utilizes machine learning and a skills-based approach to tackle existing problems with the current practice, supporting efficiency, inclusivity, and accessibility into the labour market.
